It is a while since Apple updated their MacBook Air lineup and supply at various resellers aorund the world are getting low. Usually this means that Apple is currently planning to refresh the product line. Some rumours say that Apple is going to release a refresh at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which starts on June 10.
The MacBook Air and the thirteen inch Retina MacBook Pro have some similarities but due to the premium price Apple demands for their prodcts I still think there is a place for a computer with a similar form factor without the retina display. Not everyone is able to afford top of the line products and I think Apple will release an updated version of the MacBook Air soon. If you are in the market of getting one I would suggest you wait a while.
